Christmas Break....Are We There Yet???

That meme is SO true, isn't it??  I really have a super class this year, but their excitement about Christmas ramps up more and more every day.

Of course, part of this excitement is of my own doing!  Elfabet showed back up this week.  She has set up our classroom tree for us, and on Wednesday, she brought an Elf Pet.
My elf has had the same name for several years, so this was a fun chance for the littles to get in on the name-picking action.  Another attraction of the Elf Pet...she can be held by the kids!

So after all of the interesting nominations, Tinkerbell won!  I was personally rooting for Candy Brown (isn't that hysterical?!) or Ginger, but it was Tinkerbell by a landslide.

We have wrapped up our unit on shapes.  I found these adorable GingerHeads from Teach With Me...best of all, they are FREE!  There were a few shapes that I needed and I wanted to add a writing component.  You can pick up those extra things I made HERE.

We've been reviewing singular and plural nouns, so after reading Pete the Cat Saves Christmas, we used THESE review sheets from Shelly Sitz to practice and then attached them to our own Pete's.  I think they turned out super cute!

Finally, I wanted to show you my latest creation--Coin Craze Ornaments!  We are working hard on adding combinations of coins.  I wanted to come up with a fun, Christmas-y way to practice.  This set includes the templates to create the ornament, 5 different toys with different prices, and sheets of paper money to color and cut out.  I also included 2 printables to extend the activity.

My kiddos LOVED shopping for their toy and going to the bank to get the correct amount of change needed.  It was a great assessment tool as well.  I was quickly able to see which of my friends are comfortable using quarters and which ones are still sticking to dimes, nickels, and pennies only.  Check it out and let me know what you think!

We have two more weeks to go until Christmas Break...hopefully there won't be too many episodes of  scraping the children from the ceiling!

  1. What happens if I don't scrape them from the ceiling? LOL, just kidding!
